ProSET® Overview
ProSET® – Process Safety Evaluation Toolset combines a family of modules allowing the user to complete risk assessment activities part of the Functional Safety Lifecycle, as required by international standards such as IEC 61508 and IEC 61511.
ProSET® is a family of three tools including:
SIL Comp® – The Complete SIL Compliance Software Suite for SIL Determination, SIL Verification, Safety Requirement Specification (SRS) and Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA)
PHA Comp – The Process Hazard Analysis Compliance Tool for use in PHA studies such as Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOP studies)
DATA Comp – Operation & Maintenance Data Collection Toolset to evaluate achieved demand rates, failure rates and back calculations of SIL Verification results
A list of features of each of the modules are presented below:
Project Settings
- Workshop sessions manager (including attendees)
- Drawing numbers manager
- Site structures manager
- Assumptions manager
- Project Information
SIL Comp®
SIL Determination
- Risk Profile Manager
- SIL Determination via
- LOPA
- Risk Graphs
- Risk Matrix
- Combination of Risk Graph and LOPA
- Combination of Risk Matrix and LOPA
- Mode of Operation selection:
- Low Demand
- Continuous Demand
- Selection of consequences for specific hazards
- Configuration of custom Initiating Events, Independent Protection Layers (IPLs) and Conditional Modifiers.
- Results summary
- Target Selection via:
- Assessed Consequence Category
- Custom SIL Target
- Custom PFD Target
- SIL Status settings of:
- Open
- Closed
- Hold
- Development
- Mothballed
- Out Of Service
- Custom
- Cost Benefit Analysis, CBA, via As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP)
- SIL Determination report generation
- SIL Assessment (Determination and Verification combined) report generation
SIL Verification
- Works in tandem with SIL Determination using SIL Target, PFD/PFH Target and SIL Status
- Allows voting of independent channels from 1oo2 to 3oo4.
- Use of Subsystems allowing complex SIFs to be modelled e.g. 1oo2 Subsystem configuration of which each subsystem could contain voting
- Modelling of Non-redundant voting allowing for all elements to be included within a single calculation for duty / standby arrangements e.g. single valve in operation in a SIF but could be lined up to stream A or stream B therefore 1oo1 voting but could be either element
- Allows for the configuration of Custom Failure Rate data attained from manufacturers or other sources
- Allows custom MooN voting for non-independent channels, with maximum N value of 15
- Live view Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) when configuring a Branch
- Complete RBD view of SIF
- Architectural Assessment using either IEC 61508:2010 Route 1H or IEC 61511:2016 method
- Estimation of achieved response time and evaluation of whether the process safety time has Sensitivity Analysis for optimisation of the SIF
- SIL Verification report generation
- SIL Assessment (Determination and Verification combined) report generation
Safety Requirement Specification
- Works in tandem with SIL Determination, extracting the Sources of Demand, Demand Rate on SIF and the SIL Target and PFD Target
- Allows for input of information to pre-configured fields as per the requirements set in IEC 61511
- SRS report generation
PHA Comp
- Management of Nodes
- Default and Custom Deviations (Parameter and Guideword combinations)
- Actions Manager
- Assignees Manager
- Risk Ranking of Cause / Consequences
- PHA report generation
- PHA Actions report generation
DATA Comp
- Configuration of Elements installation data (date installed, Serial Number, Service, decommissioning data etc)
- Record demands and failures per element
- Evaluates failure data by group (based on the Device, Failure Mode used and Duty Type)
- Recalculates your PFD/PFH Achieved (from SIL Verification) based on your actual failure rates
- Recalculates your Demand Rate (from SIL Determination) based on your actual Demands
- Results are shown as to whether your Demands, Failure Rates and recalculated PFD/PFH Achieved values are better or worse than predicted
- DATA Comp report generation
